Cloud Festival- Albanian 60 s Music & Poetry Performance

The first amateur choir of Tirana, an initiative initiated by Edit Pula and the Municipality of Tirana, launched in 2019 within the framework of the New Festival with the aim of involving the Tirana community and music enthusiasts in cultural engagement. Under the direction of the well-known Albanian composer, Prof. Fatos Qerimaj and the teacher of Canto at the Academy of Arts in Tirana, Mrs. Nereida Fico, this choir with 30 participants: teachers, economists, lawyers, engineers, civil society activists, public employees, pensioners, young people and children, Albanians and foreigners, come together once a week to sing, with the desire to bring back the tradition of the city choir. This choir has offered not only opportunities for progressive artistic development, social and cultural interaction between generations, but also responsibility for decent stage representation inside and outside the country. The renowned Albanian screenwriter and director, Meri Dishnica will rise to the scene of Cloud Festival to offer a Poetic Performance titled “Thrills of Power”. This poem echoes the personality distortion one faces after he gets powerful. Dishnica is engaged in search of new intersections between image and sound, movement and space. Her artworks which include video art, cinematic poems, and experimental films have gained recognition in several international independent film festivals.
